“ Small hole in the wall family owned Southeast Asian restaurant. This place has been here since i was a toddler and I still come here to eat. Just a heads up on the parking though, the parking lot is small and cramped, but you can def park behind the restaurant if necessary and there's been lots of homeless on the streets lately so just be mindful not to leave anything inside your car and lockup to be safe. I normally order their Laotian style papaya salad, angel chicken wings, sticky rice, beef jerky, and kapoon (curry noodle soup). It has a homey taste that reminds me of my mother's cooking. Whenever I crave a home made meal, I come here as it never disappoints. This is a small family owned business too so I try to come when I'm in the area to be supportive. I sometimes order from DoorDash and foods still fresh and taste the same as i remember. We can only have our best eateries If we are supportive to have them in our communities. I will continue to support and hope you all enjoy this place as I do too ”
“ Worth the Trip for Authentic Laos Food in Sacramento! We regularly travel up to Sacramento, and this time we found a gem! Lao Kitchen serves the best traditional Laos food we've had, hands down. Every dish is packed with flavor, and if you like your food extra spicy, you're in for a treat! I couldn't get enough of the papaya salad and klung fin -- both dishes were fresh, vibrant, and seasoned to perfection. We also shared the Lao sausages, which were incredibly aromatic and bursting with delicious flavors. Every bite was a delight! For our kids, we ordered the fried chicken wings, which they devoured alongside sticky rice. The wings were so crispy and tasty that we ended up ordering a second round of papaya salad because we just couldn't get enough! Lao Kitchen has definitely won us over. I can't wait to return the next time we're in the area. If only they would open a location in the Bay Area! ”
“ Ordered wings and laarb. Ambiance was good. Service was good. Food was mediocre. Location was out of the way. We thought it was a bit pricey. ”
“ This is your quintessential "hole in the wall", low key, locally owned and operated business. What they lack in decor, they make up in food quality. Food and service are great. Owner is always willing to chat about sports and current events. The food... OMG, the food is sooooo good. Some of the best recipes we've had, Seriously. We travel quite a bit and have eaten at a ton of michelin star and guided restaurants, but when we're home, we always make a point to come here for some authentic home style south east asian food. try the lao sausage, the papaya salad, beef jerky, laap, kasoy soup and add some sticky rice. You won't be disappointed. Be mindful that this is NOT the best area of Sac so lock your car and bring any valuables inside with you. Have a seat looking outside so you can keep an eye on your car. Other than that, enjoy. ”
“ I've never had Laos food before and what better way to bring the new year in by with new experiences of food. This place is on the corner lot connected to a convenience store with slim parking. There might be more parking on the side or the back but i didn't check since i was able to get a spot right in front. The place is clean and very welcoming. Since it was middle of the week around 1 we had the place to ourselves. The owner/server was kind enough to answer our questions and not judge us. I can appreciate her cause when trying new foods we all have questions. I've been places before where i want to try things but i also have questions and the people make you feel dumb. But not here! The food was flavorful. My taste is sensitive so some things that would be normal were stronger to me but everything was good. A bonus was we didn't get rushed out after we slowed down eating. We were able to hang out while i fed my baby and still snacked on what we had at the table. She actually waited for us to let them know we were ready. But still kept an eye just in case we needed something ”
“ This was my first time here. I had a couple of friends with me for lunch at Laos Kitchen. The dining room is large, clean, and spacious. The neighborhood outside isn't the best, so this was a pleasant surprise. The menu isn't big but it's nice. I appreciate that they had a clean, nice menu with a heavy plastic jacket on it. Having been at some newer places that don't bother to print a menu, at all. Between us, we had the Kapoon, the Kasoy, and the chicken laap. Service was polite and fast. Water glasses were brought and we didn't have a long wait for lunch even though it was noon/lunchtime. The soup in the kasoy dish was delicious! Wide, soft rice noodles were velvety and tasty. The soup was excellent. My dining companions had ordered sticky rice that came wrapped in plastic and tucked inside a cuter woven basket with a lid. We all enjoyed our food a lot and did a little sharing around of bites. Like at many of the SE Asian restaurants in the south area, a check is not brought to the table. You go up to the register and pay. ”
